Use first pick in keeper league on Watkins? Allen? Whir

16 team 3 keeper league. Half ppr. My 3 keepers are lynch, spiller and roddy white. I've got the first pick with essentially the top 48 off the board already. Is it obvious that I take the plunge for Sammy Watkins. Or do I go a more conservative route with Keenan Allen? Thanks! Leave a link to yours!

If you think you are one piece away from winning it this year go with Allen. Otherwise you have to take Watkins. He is going to be a special player. It may take a year or two, and/or a new QB, but he is going to be flat nasty. Perfect timing to take over the keeper spot Lynch has held for the last several years for you.

What RBs do you think will be available? Just the rookies like Sankey, Williams, Hyde etc?

Can you trade the pick? Maybe you can get a player in return instead of Watkins or Allen? I'd have to agree with indeed if you take the pick though, his thoughts are pretty much how I feel. I'm an Allen guy, but the talent with Watkins is too good to pass up, especially in a deep league like you have.

No there will be other Rbs....Zac Stacy may even be available, but we can only start 2 Rbs....I suppose I could draft him and then wheel and deal.

Watkins shouldn't be in the conversation, as he's not near the top 50. Allen would be a good pick, Stacy may be even better, especially if you think you can trade Lynch (who may be nearing the end of his usefulness in a keeper format) for a top WR.

My assumption rjwhite is that this is a dynasty league. That's my guess based on how he worded the question. If it is not, then you are absolutely correct, Watkins is not even close to the top pick. If it is a dynasty league then Watkins is absolutely in the conversation in a 16 team league with 3 keepers each. If it is a dynasty league and based on his keepers of Lynch (career coming to an end soon), Spiller a "hope for the best keeper" and an aging White, he needs to remedy his long term outlook. White and Lynch have probably been the core of your team for years but not much longer. Do you have a better keeper option than Spiller? That potential three headed monster in BUF scares me.
